Jolie, Pitt reach custody agreement for children

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reached a custody agreement for the couples six children aged between 8 and 15, the agreement will allow Pitt to have therapeutic visits while custody will remain with Jolie.

The superstar couple divorced in September with Jolie citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split for the "health of the family" according to a member of the legal team.

According to a statement, the agreement was reached over a week ago after consulting childcare professionals.

"We believe that all sides are committed to healing the family and ask for your consideration during this difficult time," the statement said.

The two actors were married for two years and had been together for 12 after becoming close during the filming of Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005.
