Pakistani cinema's alive and kicking this Eid

Local film industry is back in business with three simultaneous Pakistani releases this Eid. With Hollywood and Bollywood both out of equation after a long time, large numbers are  seen in the multiplexes, with single screens of Karachi opting for local films of their choice. The shows are almost equally divided among all three Urdu films of differing genres, with each film getting about 500 or more shows during the next two weeks.

A big turnout on the opening of not one but three Pakistani feature films is a much-needed boost and an encouraging omen for locally made films. Content and happy with their particular choice on the  2nd day of Eid,  most movie goers appreciated the progress local film industry has made in recent times.

Competing for the top spot on local box office over Eid holidays, Geo Films' new release 'Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai' is up against two local Urdu films, Jannan and Actor in Law.

Marking the debut of television stars Feroze Khan and Sajjal Ali, the film has primarily been appreciated for their performance. The film's music and story were also well received by the audiences.
