MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan has come forward in support of Fawad Khan following a blog post by an Indian journalist asking the Pakistani actor to leave the country.
According to reports in the Indian media, Shah Rukh Khan said there were no boundaries for talent and Fawad Khan should not be targeted over political matters. Shah Rukh Khan strongly condemned such conspiracies, adding that it was not right to point out Fawad or another celebrity
Indian journalist Soumyadipta Banerjee wrote a blog titled 'Dear Fawad Khan. It's time. Go back to Pakistan'.
As the title is pretty self-explanatory, Banerjee said in his blog that he chose Fawad as he is 'the most famous Pakistani import to Bollywood'.
He said that by addressing Fawad he is aiming his message at every Pakistani import to Bollywood, including Rahet Fateh Ali Khan, Mahira Khan and Adnan Sami.
On Friday, Indian extremist party gave a 48 hour deadline to Pakistani actors to leave the country. A leader for the extremist party said if the Pakistani actors did not leave they would be pushed out.
In 2015, Indian extremist party Shiv Sena had threatened Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan from promoting their movies in Maharashtra.
