Cinemagoers pass out at screening of Raw

Ambulance was called to the scene of Toronto Film Festival (TFF) after 'multiple' moviegoers fainted while watching a stomach-churning French cannibal horror movie on Wednesday.

The story of Raw revolves around a vegetarian student at a veterinary college, who develops a lust for flesh.

Written and directed by filmmaker Julia Ducournau, the movie premiered at the TFF where "multiple audience members" passed out, Hollywood Reporter and Telegraph reported.

"Paramedics were called to the scene because of people who were frightened into fainting," Hollywood Reporter quoted Ryan Werner,  in charge of the movie's marketing in Toronto

He aid the ambulance had to be called to the scene as the film became "too much for a couple".
