NAPA goes Italian: Week ends with ode to the moon

KARACHI: 'Dedicato alla luna: Italian songs and poems on the Moon', was held in collaboration with the Italian Consulate at the Napa Auditorium last Saturday.

Singing and reciting poetry in a language they barely knew, the students and alumni of the National Academy of Performing Arts left the audience in complete awe.

Happy and impressed with their meticulous performance and expression, the Consul-General of Italy, Gianluca Rubagotti, was all praise for the students for taking up the challenge of singing in a foreign language and putting up a gripping show.

The Academy's head of Music department, Ustaad Nafees Ahmed, said that in keeping with NAPA's mission to bridge differences with music, art, and dance, the event is the first of many to come in collaboration with the counsel of Italy.
