Farah Khan: Sarcasm is not something Indians understand

Farah Khan is the queen of sarcasm in Bollywood.

Everyone who knows her loves her for it but at times, she has faced the music for being blunt with people. According to her, she believes that the people in the industry cannot handle the truth at times yet she feels that her sarcasm helps her to be blunt and funny at the same time.

"It's not difficult for me to be real (in Bollywood), but it gets difficult for me when I read an article the next day. Most of the time, when I am joking and saying something with sarcasm or with a sense of humour, but, that doesn't come across in the article. You even get trolled for something that you have not said… It doesn't come across the way you said it," Farah told IANS.

She feels that at times, the media will only record her statement but will "forget" to mention that she was smiling when stating something. "Sarcasm is not something which Indians understand very well… They take it literally. That gets difficult. Having said that, it's difficult for me to be fake," she added.

In an industry where appearances are everything, it is nice to see someone who believes in being true and upfront.
