Indian extremist party will block Fawad and Mahira’s movie releases in Maharashtra

Indian extremist party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) which had earlier given Pakistani actors 48 hours to leave the country now says the release of movies starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan will be blocked in Maharashtra.

Fawad Khan stars in Ae Dil Hai Muskhil which is produced by Karan Johar while Mahira Khan stars opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.

The film wing of the Raj Thackeray led MNS said the release of these two movies would be stalled.

Speaking to an Indian news outlet, a leader of MNS said this was a direct threat to producers like Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar who cast Pakistani actors in their movies.

The MNS leader was quoted as saying: "We will not allow films with Pakistani's actors to be released here in Maharashtra. We are sending letters to all producers and would request them to cooperate with us, which we hope they will in Maharashtra. If they don't, we will stop the shoot wherever Pakistani actors are involved".
