Shhah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are clashing – over a movie release of course!
Here is the whole scoop- Apparently, both films of these two actors will be clashing as they will be released on the same day.
But before you read more, here is some background info we thought you should know. Now we all know how SRK's film 'Raaes' has already been pushed back in terms of release to avoid clash with Salman Khan's Sultan and so this time, when news broke out that Hrithik's film will be released on the same day, SRK got in touch with Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan to see if they could work out the dates so to avoid clash for both films. However, at that time, Hrithik refused flatly and was of the opinion that this was not necessary and that both movies would do well at the box office regardless of the same day release.
Ah, but wait. After the disastrous performance of Hrithk's film 'Mohenjo Daro', it was heard that the actor was reconsidering his decision regarding this matter.
Alright, let's come back to the present. We all know how good of a friend Karan Johar is with SRK, so of course when he heard about this clash, he obviously decided to lend a helping hand. He had been in talks with the Roshans to push back the dates for their film but to no success, so now he decided to use a different approach and take a different approach altogether by trying to get him the best deal for the distribution for his film.
According to a source close to a leading daily (DNA), "Karan's production company had not just presented Baahubali, but even bought the Hindi rights for the film. When SRK, Riteish and Farhan locked Anil Thadani as the distributor for Raees, Karan told Shah Rukh how to get the best deal from single-screen owners. Anil owns the distribution rights of Baahubali 2 and Mirzya so he made the single-theatre owners sign a three-film deal that he would give them these films only if they gave him maximum screens for Raees too. Now, for exhibitors, Baahubali 2 is one of the hottest releases of 2017 so they had no choice but to agree."
Now we all know that if that happens, Hrithik's film will suffer badly with this hit. The source also said, "The film will suffer badly if it doesn't have any single-screen theatres in Mumbai. Ironically, in Hrithik's Mohenjo Daro vs Akshay Kumar's Rustom clash, Roshan Jr had the upper hand as UTV had ensured maximum single-screen theatres during that time."
So how will this all pan out and who will emerge victorious? Only time will tell, till then we wish these actors all the best for their films.
