KARACHI: Kicking off at the Beach Luxury Hotel early on Saturday, the conference is the first and only platform showcasing the business of entertainment in its entirety. Featuring film, theater, television, music, print and electronic media- the two-day event aims to connect professionals for the evolution and growth of the industry both locally and globally.
In a first and much-needed attempt to promote and encourage the business of entertainment the inaugural session of Focus Pakistan managed to pull all under one roof; including creative, technical and financial experts.
Led by prominent industry professionals as speakers and moderators the nine sessions held on 1st day saw experts sharing valuable insights and ideas of innovation.
Representing the film fraternity, the likes of Usman Peerzada and Sabiha Sumar welcomed the timeliness of the initiative saying it's a must attend event for all involved and interested.
Participating in one of the sessions famed director of Kara Film Festival Hasan Zaidi expressed his concerns about the current state of Pakistani cinema after the recent ban of Indian Films.
On the other hand, singer-songwriter Zeb Bangash sharing her thoughts in a discussion about local music scene lamented over the lack of original and new content.
The 1st edition of Focus Pakistan is to continue in Karachi till December 4, 2016.
