Iconic Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan – informally known as Saifeena among fans – welcomed a baby to the family on Tuesday. The duo's son, named Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, was born at 7:30 AM local time, and both the actress and infant are doing fine.

Kapoor gave birth at the Breach Candy Hospital on December 20. The baby's name was revealed by an excited Karan Johar.
In their official statement published in The Times of India, Saifeena expressed gratitude to the fans and media. "We would like to thank […] our fans and well wishers for their continued affection. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all," they said.

Johar's tweet garnered a flood of reaction from fans discussing whether the name is fitting enough, its meaning, and its history throughout the subcontinent. Twitter user @ashishmaharishi even created a poll, asking if admirers like the name or it could've been better.
Some argued that it means iron, which implies strength and steadfastness. On the other hand, historical destruction and brutality associated with the name was highlighted by a few others.

Amusingly, stand-up comedian Aditi Mittal just wondered aloud about how "good-looking" the baby will be when he grows up.
Taimur is the couple's first child together, while Saif Ali Khan has already fathered two children from his former marriage with Amrita Singh.
