Famous Bollywood actors Priyanka Chopra, Kajol and Anil Kapoor welcomed Pakistani cinema owners' decision to end over two-month long ban on screening of Bollywood movies.
Pakistani cinema owners resumed screening of movies from the neighbouring countries after a brief 'self-imposed' temporary ban, which was imposed following India's ban on Pakistani actors.
"Art should go across the world. I have always believed that. So, I am glad about it," Priyanka Chopra was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
Kajol also praised the move, calling it a positive sign for the industry. She said that she supports every decision that is to benefit the Indian film industry.
Anil Kapoor also lauded the decision, saying that he is extremely happy over the decision taken by the Pakistani cinema owners. The veteran actor called it a 'great news'.
The Bollywood actors expressed their happiness at the decision while attending the Sansui Colors Stardust awards on Monday.
On Monday, Pakistani cinema owners resumed the screening of Bollywood movies. Cinema owners said that despite tense relations between the Indian and Pakistani governments, trade between the two neighboring nations has not been halted.
"Our stance, even when we had taken this decision, we called it a suspension. And suspensions are always temporary. As the temporary period has passed, now we're ending the ban. Now the screening process is going to be resumed," Nadeem H. Mandviwalla, Chief Executive of Mandviwalla Entertainment had told Geo News.
