The Fourth Short Film Festival 2016 of Iqra University will be held at Nueplex Cinema on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
The event takes place every year, where hundreds of students join hands to make ambitious short films filling in ranks as writers, directors, producers, designers, art directors, editors, sound designers and graphic artists.
These movies are entirely executed by the students from the idea, script, production, post production and marketing. The movies are also self-financed by students and have been shot in 14 weeks.
The faculty also supervises these movies with the students by monitoring content, quality of production and making sure that strict timelines are followed from beginning to end. They also invite jury and guests who are prominent people from the media industry.
The reason to have a festival like this is to teach students how to collaborate and work together. This whole exercise teaches them the entire production flow of film making from scratch to finish, which includes the launch of the film on the big screen. There are approximately 500 plus students who work on this project every year.
Students are divided into groups where the directors choose their team from the huge pool of students. For acting the students either act themselves or take semi professional actors from the industry. A count of 10, 9 or 8 movies are showcased.
