Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s memoir lands him in trouble

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui perhaps didn't anticipate the strong backlash he would receive once snippets from his book went public.

The actor recently had excerpts from his memoir 'An ordinary life' published in a daily. Little did he know, that following the content being public he would be embroiled in a legal battle for defaming women he had brief affairs with.

It came to the extent where he had to pull back his book and apologise on Twitter.

Nawazuddin had revealed snippets of his affair with his 'Miss Lovely' co-star and another former girlfriend Niharika Singh, after which a Delhi-based lawyer filed a complaint against him with National Commission for women.

Niharika had accused Nawazuddin for exploiting and disrespecting women in order to sell the book.

The actress said she came to know later about Nawazuddin's wife back in his village. Niharika said she didn't have any knowledge of the content and she didn't give her consent for the memoir.

Sunita Rajwar, another woman mentioned in the book, said that the book is about manipulation of events, calling it 'extraordinary lies'.
