Karan-Kangana feud turns blistering hot; Johar tells Ranaut to 'leave' films

It seems that the joy of announcing his newborn twins' news wasn't enough for Bollywood's flamboyant director Karan Johar to quench his burgeoning thirst to get back at feminist "Queen" Kangana Ranaut, who had slammed him for nepotism in his own show Koffee with Karan.

KJo – speaking to Anupama Chopra at the London School of Economics on Sunday, a video clip of which was posted on Twitter – said that he is "done with Kangana playing the woman and the victim card. I'm done!"

The producer, whose latest project Badrinath Ki Dulhania is set to hit the screens on March 10, explained that Kangana acts like "a victim every time that has some sad story to tell." It seems that he took some real offence at the actress calling him "the flag bearer of movie mafia."

"If the industry is bad, leave it," Johar exclaimed, leading the audience to applaud in approval. It is somewhat a concern, given how Ranaut has always championed women's rights and brought to light the B-world's ugly truths.

The Revolver Rani made her appearance on the show on February 19, in which she stated that it is Karan who showed "more unnecessary attitude in the film industry."

While Saif Ali Khan, the other guest, tried to keep the situation calm by being funny, Ranaut was on fire. She added, "If there's a biopic on me, Karan will play the stereotypical Bollywood biggie who is very snooty and completely intolerant of outsiders. […] You will have [a] big part."

Johar, who had stayed mute on the issue till now, mentioned that he "was gracious enough to keep everything [from the interview]; I gave her my platform," adding that the Rangoon star was unaware of what nepotism means.

The iconic actress is famous for her blunt and unwavering stances, many of which notably highlighted the Indian movie space's dirty facts that have been swept under the carpets. She made sure to note that despite Karan making fun of her English skills – that she took as constructive criticism to grow as an artist – he was forced to invite her on his show since she's now a famed name.

Kudos to you Kangana for being a refreshing and unbiased voice in the usually pretentious, sugar-coated film industry!
