Bollywood producer and director Karan Johar has shown people the different phases of love and heartbreak in his movies. However, the Bollywood version always seems a tad more dramatic than real life.
Basing emotions on real life experiences tend to enhance the value of a scene. Speaking about this at India Today's Conclave, the filmmaker remarked that movies are based on real-life scenarios.
"People say Hindi films are theatrical and dramatic, but somewhere its roots are in real life. I have been at a shaadi ka mandap when the love of my life was getting married to somebody else... When it happens to you, you feel like you can't get over what's happening to you," he said as reported by Indian media.
He was then asked how to get over a heart break to which he replied "Make your work your ambition. Not your love life."
Speaking about the marriages in industry, he remarked "A happy marriage in the industry would really jolt me. I'd be like, 'You're a dinosaur, get out of here'."
Johar recently became the father to twins, Roohi and Yash, and is said to be spending most amount of time with them.
His upcoming venture, Baahubali: The Conclusion, has gained the attention of everyone making it one of the most anticipated movie of this year.
