Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie to teach course at LSE this winter

Angelina Jolie – the famed actress who is also known for her work for humanitarian causes – has added another feather to her cap after a Tuesday morning lecture at the London School of Economics (LSE) as the Visiting Professor in Practice.

The Academy Award-winning star is set to teach a course this September at LSE's Centre for Women Peace and Security, which she co-launched with British politician William Hague on February 10, 2015.

Alana Foster, who was present during Jolie's lecture, posted a picture on her Instagram account.

With regard to the programme Jolie will teach this winter, the student explained that it is "a really small course, [with] about five classes and one lecture a week."

On the latest development, Christine Chinkin, FBA – the Centre's director and a law professor – stated that learning "directly from the valuable insights, perspectives, and experiences that Angelina Jolie, UN Special Envoy and Visiting Professor in Practice" is of great value for the students.

In addition, an LSE spokesperson told People that Professor Jolie's first lecture was inspired by her "work as UNHCR special envoy and as co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative."

According to E! News, a university student, whose friend recorded a Snapchat video of the 41-year-old feminist icon, said that she looked "shy yet, enthusiastic."

Earlier in 2015, on the occasion of the Centre's launch, Jolie had stressed on the "need [for] the next generation of educated youth with inquisitive minds and fresh energy, who are willing not only to sit in the classroom but to go out into the field and the courtrooms […] to make a decisive difference."
