The Amir Khan-Faryal Makhdoom saga shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
After an ugly Twitter spat leading to a split between the two, Faryal finally broke her silence on Friday over her estranged husband's accusations that she cheated on him with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.
"The screenshots sent to Amir were 'fake' and Amir thought Joshua and I were speaking... when we have never even met," she wrote.
"Anger took the better of him and he tweeted away without thinking there was absolutely NO truth to it.
"It's all cleared up with both teams now and again, there was NOTHING like that going on. Apologies for all this nonsense. Let's get on with life now..."
Amir appeared to have accepted her apology, as he tweeted Joshua her note acknowledging that there was no "truth to it" and wished him "all the best".
Moments later, he also admitted that the only reason he let himself loose in Dubai was to make Faryal jealous.
"I partied in Dubai with friends to get my wife angry," he tweeted. "Shouldn't have. That's not like me and I'll prove that."
However, he was quick to point out that the pair were still splitting.
"I still have made my decision to leave Faryal. It happens in life. The relationship was getting unhealthy. I wish her nothing but the best."
The boxer then promptly deleted two of his above tweets, leaving the Twitterati guessing about the whole drama.
Just over a week ago, Amir announced he was splitting with his wife after referring to an alleged Snapchat conversation between Faryal and Joshua, sparking a war of words between the couple.
