There seems to be no rest for the wicked. Plagued by a series of hacks, 'Game of Thrones' was beset by another leak when HBO Spain 'accidentally' broadcasted next week's episode of season 7 of the cult TV show.
According to media reports, the sixth episode of the ongoing season, titled 'Death is the Enemy' was aired in full by the HBO channel in Spain overnight – full five days before its scheduled release.
The episode was reportedly available on-demand to Spanish subscribers for one hour before being removed, but the damage was already done.
Footage from the episode appeared on Reddit via YouTube, Instagram, Twitch and other streaming services, triggering an onslaught of spoilers and cautions.
Twitter went into a meltdown over the latest leak, as fans mocked the misadventure and tried to stay clear of the spoilers.
HBO has had a rough few weeks. The latest leak comes after an earlier episode of Game of Thrones season 7, handled by a contractor to News Corp's Star India, was also leaked online.
Before that, an episode of season 6 was also accidentally uploaded by HBO's Nordic arm a few hours before official broadcast.
HBO is also mired in a hacking scandal, where Game of Thrones scripts and storylines from the current season have also been leaked online.
