Boxer Amir Khan has said he is "struggling" to sleep and confessed he is "gutted" after the 30-year-old and his American-Pakistani wife Faryal Makhdoom announced to end their marriage through explosive attacks on Twitter – accusing each other of cheating, lying, being unfaithful and greedy.
Hours after accusing Faryal, the mother of his three-year-old daughter, of "moving on" with world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, Amir told the Sunday Mirror: "I haven't slept all night."
The former light-welterweight world champ, who is currently in Dubai, said: "I don't know what to say. I'm gutted. I've not slept all night."
"I went to see some people at the marina and I've been up all night. I couldn't sleep. I need time to think. I just need to rest and to speak to some people," he told the publication.
On Friday, Amir and Faryal broke up in a Twitter outburst, with Faryal suggesting later that their social media accounts had been hacked.
However, in a Snapchat video after Faryal blamed hackers, Amir said: "Everything you've seen on social media today is real. Me and Faryal have decided to move on, well I've decided to walk away. Nothing has been hacked."
Faryal, 26, posted the first picture of herself on Instagram since the split, donning an off-the-shoulder top and ripped jeans.
The couple had tied the knot in a high-profile wedding in 2013.
