As the news of the fairytale wedding of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma settles in, all eyes have now turned to Anushka's engagement ring.
The rumour mill has it that the ring the Indian skipper bought for his wife cost more than the rent of their wedding venue.
"It costs about [INR] 1 crore but it's totally worth the money because whoever will see it, definitely wouldn't be able to take their eyes off it," a source told BollywoodLife.
Going by this number, the engagement ring cost more than the rent of the medieval villa of Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany, Italy, where the couple finally tied the knot.
The villa sits on Forbes' list of 20 most expensive holiday destinations in the world. One week at the Borgo Finocchieto costs at least INR 1 crore. The rates range from INR 6,50,000 to 14,00,000 per night.
Kohli reportedly took almost three months to finalise the ring.
"He's picked a very rare diamond ring for Anushka that has been specially crafted by an ace designer from Austria. The design is unimaginably beautiful and reflects surprising elements, every time you see it from different angles," the source said.
Before their dreamy wedding, the couple exchanged rings surrounded by their family and close friends. Anushka donned a red velvet saree, while Kohli looked dapper in a blue suit.
Kohli and Anushka will host a reception in New Delhi for relatives on December 21, followed by a celebration in Mumbai on December 26 to be attended by Bollywood stars and cricketers.
They will then honeymoon in South Africa before moving into their new home in Mumbai, the cradle of India´s multi-billion-dollar Hindi film industry.
