Zaira Wasim, who shot to fame after starring in Aamir Khan's Dangal and more recently in Secret Superstar, said on Sunday she was harassed by a male passenger sitting behind her on a plane.
The young actor narrated her ordeal on Instagram via live video.
Wasim said she was on the Air Vistara flight from Delhi to Mumbai Saturday night when the man extended his foot on her armrest.
"So, I was in a flight travelling from Delhi to Mumbai today and right behind me one middle-aged man who made my two-hour journey miserable. I tried to record it on phone to understand it better because the cabin lights were dimmed, I failed to get it...The lights were dimmed, so it was even worse. It continued for another five to ten minutes and then I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck," she said in the video post.
In its first statement on Twitter, the airline Vistara stated that it would look into the incident, adding that it had "zero tolerance for such behaviour".
Later, the airline said in an update that they are investigating the incident. It also apologised to the actress, saying she has their complete support.
Moreover, former chief minister of occupied Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, stated on Twitter that the passenger's identity should be given to the police by the airline and a case filed for legal action.
