The director of Padmavati, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has cleared the air about his film after rumours surfaced regarding dream sequence shot between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji.
"I have made Padmavati with immense honesty, hard work and responsibility," Bhansali said in a video message. "I have always been inspired by the story of Rani Padmavti and this film is my tribute to her valour, honour and sacrifice."
However, he added, rumour has dragged the film into controversy. The rumour is that a dream sequence has been shot been Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji in the film, Bhasali said. "I have already said this earlier, even given in written and repeating through this video that our film shows no such scene that would hurt anyone's sentiments."
The director said they have also been careful about Rajput traditions while making the film.
The role of Rani Padmavati is played by Deepika Padukone while Ranveer Singh is Alauddin Khilji in the film. The film has been making headlines months before its release in December.
