Larry King revealed on Wednesday that he had surgery after he was diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer.
The iconic interviewer encouraged people, "Get a chest X-ray, If I had not had the chest X-ray, it would have progressed."
"They said I was lucky and smart to get annual chest X-rays because lung cancer doesn't give you any signs until it's in late stages," King said.
The octogenarian broadcaster gets an annual X-ray because of his previous heart attack and heart surgery.
King's Stage 1 cancerous mass appeared in X-rays as a cloud on his lung. Doctors removed the malignancy through a surgical procedure.
The legendary broadcaster, 83, opted to go public with his latest health scare as a way to raise awareness.
