He won critical acclaim as Joker in the Batman movies and won hearts as Ennis in Brokeback Mountain. Heath Ledger was nothing short of a legendary actor, who left his fans shocked and sobbing over his untimely death. If you're still not over his death, an upcoming documentary featuring the late actor's unseen footage may offer some respite.
I Am Heath Ledger has been directed by Derik Murray and includes footage shot by mostly Ledger himself. The trailer, released recently, shows never-before-seen footage of the actor. It also features tributes from his friends, family and colleagues.
Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee, says: "Even as a supporting actor he will steal the whole show. That's the power of Heath Ledger."
"There were always cameras around, a video camera, a Polaroid camera or the film camera," model Christina Cauchi says in the trailer. "That's the only way I think of him."
The full documentary will premiere at Tribeca Film Festival on 23 April, nine years after his death in 2008.
