WATCH: Tom Cruise runs for his life in new trailer of 'The Mummy’

The second trailer of The Mummy was recently unveiled online, and it is nothing short of exhilarating!

Featuring Tom Cruise as the lead alongside Russell Crowe and Annabelle Wallis, The Mummy is a reboot of its 1999 namesake, and sees the heroes fighting against ancient supernatural forces that are led by Sofia Boutella's Princess Ahmanet.

The Princess, who, in the video clip, is seen laying waste to the modern world as we know it, was unearthed by Cruise's Nick Morton in a daring act under the ground.

The unearthing has brought Ahmanet back with an unending fury that has welled up inside her ever since she was buried, leading her to give Morton quite an 'I-told-you-so' chase and, from what it looks like, popping up as a third wheel in an underwater scene.

On an inspiring note, it was revealed at CinemaCon earlier that the action-film star actually "did 64 takes in zero gravity for the plane crash sequence," according to Variety.

The Mummy, which is directed by Alex Kurtzman, will be the first movie in the Universal Monsters Movie Universe, complete with notorious characters such as Frankenstein, Invisible Man, and Wolf Man, Highsnobiety reported.

The film will hit the cinemas on June 9, 2017. Watch the trailer here:
