Indian model and TV actress Sara Khan, who was named Miss Bhopal in 2007, debunked rumours pertaining to her arrest here in Pakistan.
Speaking to a media outlet, the 27-year-old actress said, "I was two days above my visa because of flight issues. Then, the immigration people told me that I need to take the NOC. So, I stayed back there got the NOC and came back to Mumbai. I was not detained, I was retained there," Indian Express reported.
Khan was in the country to shoot TV drama Laikin, which marks her debut in the Pakistani television industry and had to stay back for a couple of days to obtain her No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the ministry. During these two days, she remained in the hotel.
The artist even posted a selfie with her co-star, Ali Abbas.
The Hamari Adhuri Kahani star was baffled as to how such news surfaced online. "I don't know who the […] is spreading such news. I was not doing anything illegal there," she said, adding that since she had "been active on social media, how can people spread such stupid rumours."
Prior to this, Sara Khan in an interview to a local news website had praised Pakistan's TV space. "The reason I decided to come to Pakistan was because of the strong content in Pakistani television," she commented, going on to say that while "Pakistani television is still growing, […] I love the content on Pakistani TV."
Funnily enough, the actress even mentioned the inexplicably lengthy durations of Indian TV dramas, which continue for years. She stated, "Another aspect I enjoy here [in Pakistan] is that they end on time. It takes about a month or so to finish a spell for a drama here whereas, in India, they just go on forever."
