Hugh Jackman will always be our hero – even if he won't play Wolverine anymore – and he recently proved it.
In shooting a scene for The Greatest Showman last month, where Jackman was to carry Zac Efron out of a burning building, the former saved the latter's life when flames went out of control.
While both the actors completed the scene unscathed, it was Efron who realised later how serious the situation had become as he watched the recorded clip later on set.
"Some of the pyrotechnics got a little bit too hot. […] It looked great on camera. We didn't know it [at the time], but it was pretty intense. I watched playback, and he saved me from a burning building. It later exploded that night," the 29-year-old said during an interview at CinemaCon with MTV.
Oh how completely surreal it must have been! Efron, interestingly, agrees, as he added, "Hugh Jackman saving you from a burning building? It's every girl's dream."
On the work front, Jackman appeared in Logan as Wolverine for the last time, marking the end to his X-Men days, while Efron recently wrapped up Baywatch.
