Saif Ali Khan decides to change name of baby Taimur

Saif Ali Khan and wife Kareena Kapoor Khan were blessed with a beautiful baby boy Taimur Ali Khan on December 20. But before Saifeena could enjoy the new phase of parenthood, the name of the newborn sparked controversies on internet.

The couple had to deal with Twitteratti's distasteful comments about the name of the newborn 'Taimur' as many believed Saif shouldn't have named his son after Taimur Lung, the Turkish ruler who invaded India.

Due to the ongoing controversies over the name, daddy Saif has now said that he will might change the name of his son.

Saif Ali Khan told an Indian media portal, "I thought for a second about changing his name. For a couple of weeks. And Kareena was a little against it and she said, 'People respect you for your opinion and you can't'... So I said, yeah, but it's not about people. I don't want him to get unpopular".

Saif Ali Khan further said, "And I still might, maybe when he's one or two, I might change his name in a while, it's still sinking in, what to do."

"Someone in my PR agreed with me, and we drafted a small letter. And when I read it, it was so pathetic, that I cancelled the idea. Because it was really like, uhh, 'I'm sorry', and 'I didn't want to offend' and 'I'm an idiot' and you know, I've given in to pressure. It just sounded awful. However, you write it, it just wasn't sounding right. It was like I didn't realise where I live or what I'm doing. So I did think about it. I thought about it, but it was for the wrong reason. If I feel that he's going to get in trouble in school, I might change it still. It's a bit late now though. Or not. I don't know," Saif told an Indian media portal.

At the opening of the latest edition which marks the Fashion Pakistan's 10th year anniversary, Fashion Legend Maheen Khan, who has been an integral part of the council since its inception, thoughtfully looks back at the gradual pace of its progress over the years. The platform, created by the designers for the designers through regular elections, functioning like a true democracy slowly but surely is moving in the right direction says the senior designer who is currently on the board of directors of the Fashion Pakistan Council.

A leading fashion writer and an editor at Instep, Aamna Haider Isani, says Fashion Pakistan week has played a vital role in the growth of the industry seen today by introducing the concept in Pakistan with its very first edition held in 2010. Impressed with its contribution towards encouraging and promoting the upcoming names, Isani is of the opinion that the platform has been able to achieve desired results in terms of discovering new talent.

Thrilled to be a part of the special segment dedicated to utterly new talent, Areej Iqbal who recently graduated from Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design, Lahore talks about her inspiration. Based on music, the collection is her interpretation of the concept explains Iqbal. Nida Azwer's luxurious prêt collection titled 'The Susleme' is another highlight of the first day of this latest edition. Including fine silks and organza with detailed 3D embellishment and silhouettes ranging from contemporary to traditional, her inspiration for the spring summer 2017 comes from the vibrant colours of Uzbek textiles, says the designer who is also the current CEO of the Fashion Pakistan council.

Portraying the female form in the epitome of romanticism, Tena Durrani's collection titled 'The debut' marks the end of the opening night of FPW 2017. A subtle balance of print, draping and texture, the line is her representation of a surreal garden of Eden, explains the designer who is known for a unique and innovative interpretation of the art and architecture that inspires her.
